Since 2010, investment worth more than £45 billion has been secured in electricity infrastructure alone – the majority of this investment has been in renewable technologies. According to Ernst & Young’s renewable attractiveness index, the UK is at 5th overall and in first place for offshore wind, which helped to secure record investment in 2012 and 2013.

Renewable electricity could support up to 200,000 jobs across the UK by 2020.
