DeepOcean Appoints New Director SURF (Norway)

DeepOcean AS , a subsidiary of DeepOcean Group Holding BV, today announced that John Baxter has been named DeepOcean’s Director SURF.

“We are excited that John has decided to join DeepOcean to lead our SURF team in Haugesund and Aberdeen. He has the experience and business contacts and we are confident that John will immediately contribute when he joins the DeepOcean team on 1 November 2013 ”, says Mads Bardsen, President of DeepOcean AS.

John Baxter has 24 years of international oil & gas contracting experience. He joins from DOF Subsea Norway AS, where he has served as executive vice president for business acquisition. Previously, Baxter has had several managing positions in Acergy, latest as technical director in Acergy’s Singapore office. Prior, he held the position as chief operating officer at NKT Flexibles. Baxter earned a Master of Business Administration from the Stockholm School of Economics in 2002, and also has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Abertay Dundee.

DeepOcean announced last week that the company has entered a five and a half year charter agreement starting March 2016, for a new build installation vessel. This vessel will enhance DeepOcean’s current service offerings in the SURF (Subsea Umbilicals Risers & Flowlines) segment in the Greater North Sea area.
