Dhiraagu to Start Repair Work on Maldives-Sri Lanka International Submarine Cable

After the Dhiraagu’s announcement about submarine cable repair ship ‘ASEAN Explorer’ getting ready for the repair of the broken cable, the company yesterday announced that the ship is due to arrive in Colombo on 25th April 2012 for the repairs.

Dhiraagu is constantly in touch with the ship and working with the relevant authorities and counterparts to expedite the work process.

Company’s Chief Executive, Ismail Rasheed said: “We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to our customers and we are looking into providing compensation for customers who have experienced degradation of internet service during this period”.

Furthermore he also stated that “we have increased capacity on our diversity paths, which has helped to improve service levels”.

Mr. Rasheed added “We thank our customers for their understanding and patience during this period and assure them that work is ongoing to restore service at the earliest.”
