DOF Subsea and Technip Win Petrobras Contract

DOF Subsea and Technip Win Petrobras ContractDOF Subsea and Technip joint venture has secured a contract with Brazilian oil major Petrobras for the vessel Skandi Niterói.

The Skandi Niteroi is designed for pipelay, subsea construction, installation and maintenance work and can operate in up to 2,300 meters water depths.

According DOF, the contract with immediate effect will last for about 8 months firm and with 8 months options..

Mons S. Aase, CEO, stated: “I am very pleased with the contract award, securing utilization in a challenging market and maintaining our strong position in the Brazilian market.”

The 142 meters long Brazilian-flagged vessel joined the Technip/DOF fleet in 2011.

The Skandi Niteroi is equipped with a vertical and horizontal pipelay system, a 2,000 Te under-deck carousel , and 1,400 Te reels. The vesses also has two work-class ROVs, and a 250 Te active-heave compensated crane.
