Drydocks Worl Wins Maintenance & Upgrade Projects from NDC

Within its efforts to promote its prominence as a comprehensive turnkey provider of drilling and oilfield services, National Drilling Company (NDC) awarded 4 major maintenance and upgrade projects to Drydocks World, one of the leading international service provider to the maritime, oil & gas sectors. The projects will cover 3 offshore rigs owned by NDC: Al Hail, Al-Ghallan and Al-Ittihad, in addition to its multipurpose barge Al-Ghweifat.

In a ceremony held at NDC Head Office in Abu Dhabi, NDC Chief Executive Officer Mr. Abdalla Saeed Al Suwaidi and DDW Vice President – Business Development & Commercial, Eng. Ali AlSuwaidi signed the contract awarded to DDW and worth around 90 million dirhams (approx. USD 24.5 million).

Mr. Abdalla Saeed Al Suwaidi underscored the importance of such projects in maintaining the competitive edge of the company and sustaining its reputation that is widely acknowledged and appreciated.

NDC CEO said: “Our primary consideration is always our clients, and our main objective is fulfilling their requirements through providing the best quality of services, not only in terms of technical execution of jobs, but also, in terms of readiness, reliability, safety and service excellence, therefore, NDC asset renewal plans involve investment in new rigs as well as the modernization of existing ones.”

This; combined with adopting the international best practices in HSE, the recruitment of highly skilled professionals, and reinforcing the supportive infrastructure such as Centralized Field Accommodation Camps and training center will ensure that NDC services will surpass industry standards, strategically strengthening the company for decades to come.

On his part, Eng. Ali AlSuwaidi VP of DDW said: “DDW has worked really hard to win these contracts with real commitment on quality and safety. We thank NDC for their continuous support in working as a team in delivering these projects to their expectations.

Mr. Ali Al Suwaidi added: “DDW is going forward with its plan of being the number one choice for offshore rig refurbishment and today we have achieved a major milestone in our move towards this goal. “We have qualified personnel and the industry’s leading companies are our business partners. The work has commenced in the first project for rig Al-Hail in DDW and remaining projects will follow subsequently.
