DSME inks deal with Angelicoussis

South Korea’s Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) said it has signed a US$400 million deal to build  four very large crude carriers (VLCCs) for Maran Tankers Management, a unit of Angelicoussis Group.

The deal includes an option to change the ship’s HFO-fuelled engines to ones powered by liquefied natural gas.

Daewoo plans to deliver the VLCCs by 2016.
