Dynagas LNG Partners secures Lena River ownership

Monaco-based Dynagas LNG Partners last week signed an agreement with Dynagas Holding to acquire 100 percent ownership and time charter deal with Gazprom in the 155,000 cbm Lena River. The deal is worth about US$240 million.

The 2013-built LNG carrier is currently operating on a five-year charter with Gazprom that ends on October 2018, Dynagas LNG Partners informed in a statement on Friday.

The acquisition will be financed with approximately US$72 million raised in July offering, about $133 million from a US$200 million loan and  some US$35 million from credit financing provided by Dynagas Holding. The acquisition is likely to be closed before December 31, 2015.

With the addition of the Lena River, the partnership will own six LNG carriers.
