Enagas commissions El Musel-Llanera pipeline

Enagas informed that the El Musel-Llanera pipeline, between the El Musel LNG terminal and Llanera, has been commissioned.

It will improve the security of supply and the service to the Gijón network and the surrounding areas and will ensure the area’s industrial market is efficiently supplied.

A regulation and metering station (RMS) has been built at a position of this pipeline to supply the distribution company. It will also serve as an alternative point to supply Gijón’s network.

Over the past nine years, and during the period of greatest demand (October to April), the pressure at position D16 has been increased pursuant to prevailing legislation, to ensure that the pressure at points on the distribution network remain at the regulatory levels and offer an adequate quality of supply. These new transmission infrastructures will help eliminate interruptibility conditions.

The El Musel-Llanera pipeline is also connected to the Llanera-Otero pipeline and the Llanera position, ensuring operating upgrades on the Burgos-Cantabria-Asturias, León-Oviedo and Llanera-Villalba pipelines.
