EnBW Seeking Foundation Design for Hohe See

EnBW is looking for a company to design and deliver 80 wind turbine foundations which would feature wind turbines between 3.6 MW and 6 MW.

The proposed wind farm covers an area of around 40 square kilometers located 90 kilometers north of Borkum and 100 kilometers north-west of Heligoland with water depths of up to 39 meters.

Initially, the Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency awarded the construction permit conditional on construction beginning by the end of 2013 which was later postponed for 30 June 2016.

The final award of the contract is dependent on the legal framework, permits and grid connection.

The German company already postponed the construction of the wind farm in 2012, due to uncertainties in the regulations and amendment process of the Energy Act underway at that time.

The contract is scheduled to start in 2015.
