Equinor hires two platform suppliers from Skansi Offshore

Faroe Islands-based offshore vessel operator Skansi Offshore has won two contracts from Norwegian oil major Equinor for two platform supply vessels (PSVs).

Skansi Offshore said via its social media channels on Tuesday that it had won contracts for the Torsborg and Saeborg platform suppliers.

According to the company, the contracts are for eight months firm with four optional periods of two months.

The beginning of the contracts will be in direct continuation of current contracts, which is estimated for March/April 2020.

The last time Offshore Energy Today reported on Saeborg and Torsborg vessels was back in early 2013 when the two vessels were chartered by BP and BG Norge, respectively. The contract period for both vessels was five years firm, with optional five years in addition.

As for the vessels, Saeborg and Torsborg are of Havyard 832L design built in 2011 and 2012.
