ESL Shipping Takes Delivery Dry Cargo Vessel at Korean Shipyard-

A new 56,000 dwt vessel from the Korean Hyundai Mipo shipyard has been delivered to ESL Shipping Ltd, part of the Aspo Group, Reuters reprts.

M/s Arkadia owned by ESL Shipping is the first of two dry cargo vessels to be built in Vietnam. The first 1A ice-strengthened dry cargo vessel in its class is tailor-made for the increasing cargo traffic in the Baltic Sea area and for operations in demanding conditions.

The supramax class vessel features built-in cranes and a ballast water treatment system. Sailing the colors of Finland, the vessel is 197 meters long and maximum draft with a full cargo is 13.0 meters, and she sails under the Finnish flag.

In addition to m/s Arkadia, ESL Shipping has ordered a second ice-strengthened supramax class vessel from the same shipyard, also to be commissioned in the first half of 2012.
