Euroseas to Sell Its Eldest Bulk Carrier

Greek ship owner and operator Euroseas has reached an agreement to sell its oldest dry bulk vessel, the 1998-built Monica P.

The 46,667 dwt bulk carrier is to be sold to an unaffiliated third party for a gross amount of USD 6.45 million.

Euroseas informed that the unit, which is chartered at a TCE rate of USD 10,000 until May, will be delivered to its buyers by the end of June 2018.

The sale is a part of the company’s drybulk fleet renewal program. The 20-year-old Monica P will soon be replaced by Euroseas’ Kamsarmax newbuilding, the Ekaterini, which is scheduled to join the fleet within May 2018, Aristides Pittas, Chairman and CEO of Euroseas, said.

Euroseas has a fleet of 17 vessels, including 3 Panamax, 1 Handymax, 1 Kamsarmax, and 1 Ultramax drybulk carriers, 10 feeder containerships and an intermediate containership.
