Evergreen Line Targets Southeast Asia Growth Potential

Evergreen Line has set sights on tapping into the growth potential of Intra-Asia container shipping trades.

Namely, Taiwan’s liner company said it would launch a new Taiwan-Shekou-Malacca Strait (TSS) service on 19 March, and at the same time introduce a dedicated Taiwan-Hong Kong Service (THK) on 25 March.

By launching the new services, Evergreen aims to boost frequency between Taiwan and Hong Kong and increase connectivity of its global network.

Evergreen plans to assign three 1,600 teu vessels to its TSS service, connecting Taiwan, Southern China, Singapore and Malaysia.

The weekly service will have calls at the following ports: Hong Kong, Shekou, Port Klang, Penang, Port Klang, Singapore, Tanjung Pelepas and Kaohsiung.

The company said that it plans to deploy one 1,2000 teu container vessel on its THK weekly service, set to call at Taichung, Taipei, Kaohsiung, and Hong Kong ports.

As informed, the service will provide a ‘Blue Way’ coastal feeder option between Taichung, Taipei and Kaohsiung, thereby reducing the demand for trucking across Taiwan.
