Braverman won the first annual Dr. Shimrit Perkol-Finkel SDG Excellence Award for her demonstration of deep commitment to addressing climate change with EWP’s pioneering solution in harnessing wave energy for clean electricity, the company said.

“I am very touched and honored to receive the first annual Dr. Shimrit Perkol-Finkel SDG Excellence Award. Shimrit was an amazing impact entrepreneur, who dedicated her life to the protection of our oceans”, said Braverman.

“Shimrit touched my life in a very special way. She was a friend, a mentor, and a role model. She paved the way for female entrepreneurs by showing all of us that everything is possible and that only the sky is the limit. I promise to always remember her and talk about her, to make sure that her legacy is never forgotten”.

EWP is recognized as a “Pioneering Technology” by the Israeli Ministry of Energy and was labeled as an “Efficient Solution” by the Solar Impulse Foundation.

The company’s project in Gibraltar received funding from the European Union Regional Development Fund and the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 framework program. EWP also received the “Climate Action Award” from the United Nations.

In June, the Swedish-Israeli company signed a memorandum of understanding with the Pecém Complex for the implementation of its wave power plant in the facilities of Pecém Port in northeastern Brazil.
