Expro lands Statoil job offshore Canada

Expro, a UK-based oilfield services company, has secured a contract offshore Canada with Statoil in the Flemish Pass Basin. The initial 4-year contract is valued at $45m with options for two 1-year extensions.

The contract will include the provision of surface well testing and subsea safety systems, drill stem testing tools, tubing conveyed perforation, downhole sampling and on-site chemistry services.

Expro has been providing well testing and subsea services for more than 15 years in the region. The local workforce is based in the company’s operational facility in Paradise, Newfoundland, which opened in 2012.

Mark Enget, Vice President – North America, said: “This project will allow Expro to build on our strong global relationship and success working with Statoil.”

“Our proven track record, commitment to safety, customer service and quality field performance will ideally position us to assist the Flemish Pass Basin exploration and appraisal campaign.

“Furthermore, Expro Canada’s close working relationship with our teams in Norway provides a global network of shared expertise and skilled personnel to support Statoil’s planning and development.”

Earlier this year, Expro announced a $200m contract with Statoil providing fully integrated well testing and sampling services on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

Expro will be exhibiting at the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in Houston at booth 3933 from 4-7 May 2015.

In combination with technical presentations, Expro will feature a range of integrated products and services including Subsea Safety Systems, Well Test, Safewells, Well Intervention and Slickline, Meters, Equipment Sales, Wireless Well Solutions, Pipeline & Flarestack, DST/TCP, Production and PowerChokes.
