Ferus Smit Delivers MV Volgaborg to Royal Wagenborg (The Netherlands)

Shipyard Ferus Smit B.V., Westerbroek yesterday delivered m.v. Volgaborg (yard number 408) to the Royal Wagenborg. Together with the Vikingbank and Vlieborg the Volgaborg is completed with a newly developed bow. These ships are the biggest ever launched at the Ferus Smit Westerbroek location and along the Winschoterdiep.

Not only do the sharper lines save on engine power but also result in smoother sailing and maintaining a high speed.

The Volgaborg, having following dimensions: l.o.a. 142.65m, beam 15.87m, deadweight 12.000 tons, hold volume 503.500 cft., is the third unit in a series of ships to be built for Royal Wagenborg. The Volgaborg is equipped with a main engine delivering 2970 kW to a ducted propeller.
