In Sassnitz harbor, the installation vessel Vidar had taken on board components for a total of six wind turbines. Yesterday afternoon, the Vidar mounted the first turbine on a foundation installed in the German part of the Baltic Sea. In the next few days, the rest of the turbines will follow.

“EnBW aims to significantly expand its share in renewable energy. Offshore wind energy is an important element here,” said EnBW’s CTO Dr. Hans-Josef Zimmer.

“First, I congratulate our successful offshore team! With the erection of the first of a total of 80 wind turbines at sea, our second offshore wind farm is taking shape more and more with each passing day,” Mr Zimmer continued.

“EnBW Baltic 2 is one of our flagship projects in the field of renewable energy and a significant step forward on our way to expand the wind power at sea and on shore to a larger extent.”
