Forsys Subsea, the joint venture between FMC Technologies and Technip, has been awarded a contract from Statoil to provide a subsea front-end engineering and design (FEED) study for subsea tie-back of Trestakk field to Åsgard A FPSO, located in the Norwegian Sea.

According to Forsys, the scope of work includes all systems and related services from the wellhead to Åsgard A riser hang-off, including umbilicals, riser, flowlines and subsea production system, installed and made ready for operation. A key focus of the study is to arrive at an optimal technical and cost efficient development solution, as well as providing a clear and well defined basis for the development phase, the company said on Monday.

Forsys Subsea said it would execute this FEED contract from its regional office in Oslo, Norway, in close cooperation with Technip and FMC Technologies in Norway.

“The Trestakk FEED award from Statoil shows our commitment to reducing costs and improving returns for our customers by combining the capabilities and experience of the alliance between FMC Technologies and Technip,” said Rasmus Sunde, Forsys Subsea CEO.

Statoil also recently awarded the topside Front end Engineering Design (FEED) contract for the Trestakk field tie-in to Åsgard A to Aker Solutions, a Norwegian oil services company.
