Foundation Stone Laid for Qatar Petroleum Support Campus Complex

As part of a special ceremony marking the successful operations of Qatar Petroleum’s Gas Operations for over three decades now, Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al-Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry and Chairman & Managing Director of QP, laid last April 4 the foundation stone of the New Support Campus Complex of QP Gas Operations at Mesaieed Industrial City.

HE Dr. Al-Sada was accompanied by a number of QP directors, senior QP officials and other distinguished guests, and they were welcomed by Mr. Eid Mubarak Al-Muhannadi, Operations Manager-Gas Operations.

In his keynote address, Mr. Al-Muhannadi provided an overview of the activities and achievements of QP Gas Operations in the field of gas production, gas processing as well as gas transmission and distribution. He especially highlighted the department’s contributions in Qatar’s development by being the principal supplier of fuel gas and hydrocarbon feedstock to a wide array of industries and power plants in the country.

He also presented the various ongoing initiatives related to health, safety & environment (HSE) and operational excellence, thus demonstrating the department’s commitment towards sustainable development as per the Qatar National Vision 2030. Mr Al-Muhannadi concluded his address by expressing his deep gratitude and appreciation to HE Dr. Al-Sada and to Mr. Said Al-Mohannadi, Director Operations, for their continued support and guidance.

Following the keynote address, H.E. Dr. Al-Sada then presided over a recognition ceremony for the retired long-serving Gas Operations staff. H.E. the Minister next distributed to the department managers the Gas Operations 2012 Awards. To mark the occasion, Mr. Said Al-Muhannadi, Director Operations, also presented H.E. Dr. Al-Sada with a commemorative memento.

H.E. Dr. Al-Sada then inaugurated an exhibition showcasing achievements and activities of the various departments of QP’s Gas Operations.  He also took the opportunity to interact with Qatari trainees and developees, who briefed H.E. the Minister on the department’s operations.
