This assessment is based on six broad categories: environment, human resources, human rights, community development, governance, and business behavior.

Vigeo gave GDF SUEZ a sector-leading score for human resources management. The Group was evaluated based on four criteria: promotion of quality social relations, responsible management of company reorganizations, career management and job capability development, and improvement of health and safety conditions. The factors highlighted in the Group’s rating included: its job mobility policy and establishment of HR networks in Europe, a major focus of which being optimized job management; the signing with employee representatives of a worldwide agreement on fundamental rights, social dialogue, and sustainable development; as well as consultation procedures at the European level in relation to the integration of International Power.

The Group’s quantified health & safety standards and objectives were a contributing factor to its excellent rating in that category.

GDF SUEZ was also recognized for its significant improvement in business behavior, specifically for customer satisfaction and information transparency, with customer rating improvements in France for both individual and industrial customers.

The Group’s higher rating recognizes a continuous improvement over several years for the benefit of its customers. These positive results confirm the priority given to responsible growth within the GDF SUEZ Group, as well as its benchmark sustainable development role.
