Dutch marine engineering firm, Fugro, has been awarded a three-year contract for integrity management support (IMS), and intervention works for Det norske, in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea.

Fugro said on Thursday that the offshore scope covers subsea assets at Alvheim, Vilje, Volund and Bøyla field developments. The work was conducted in May and June. Furthermore, the contract entails support for the Ivar Aasen development as well.

Fugro will conduct inspection tasks at the Alvheim FPSO utilizing the dynamically positioned inspection, repair and maintenance (IRM) vessel Skandi Carla, with inspection class and work class ROV systems.

The company will also perform intervention activities and detailed non-destructive testing (NDT) tasks.

The work has been planned by Fugro’s IRM project team by utilizing 3D software and simulations to ensure safe operation and high quality data.

Det norske recently agreed to merge with BP Norge (BP Norway) through a share purchase transaction to create the independent E&P company on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS) named Aker BP.
