Gardline CGG wraps up Gippsland survey

DukeGardline CGG Pte Ltd has completed the Gippsland 2D Infill survey for Geoscience Australia on Friday, April 24, 2015.

Gardline CGG was selected to acquire the Gippsland 2D Infill marine seismic survey in March 2015. The company used its exploration, survey vessel M/V Duke.

According to Gardline CGG, the project was completed on time, within budget and without any incidents despite encountering some challenging sea conditions at times.

Additional datasets such as multibeam bathymetry, water column data, seabed backscatter and sub-bottom profiling data were acquired within the seismic acquisition budget, the company said in the press release. The combination of these additional dataset and conventional 2D seismic will allow for a better understanding of processes in the area, Gardline CGG explained.

“Geoscience Australia was very pleased with the data acquisition and professionalism of Gardline CGG Pte Ltd,” said Geoscience Australia’s team leader.
