Gas Leak at Statfjord A Platform

Statfjord A was depressurized and shut down. The leakage has been stopped, and the site of the leak has been found and isolated.

There were 168 workers on board the platform at the time of the incident.

According to Statoil, no injuries were reported. The workers were called together and half of them were transferred to nearby platforms since it was uncertain how long the incident would last, Statoil said.

Statoil added that the situation on the platform was quickly normalized, and all transferred workers were returned to Statfjord A.  Production from Statfjord A was restarted Sunday, 29 December.
