Gastech 2011 Receives Unprecedented Support from Leading Gas Associations (The Netherlands)

Global gas conference and exhibition, Gastech 2011, will be supported by 21 leading international trade associations, delivering unprecedented endorsement and confirming its premier reputation within the gas industry.

The show of support for Gastech 2011 from the gas industry, as well as the Dutch Government, is indicative of the high regard the global gas community has for this established event. Association collaboration from across the upstream, midstream and downstream gas sectors make Gastech the must-attend event of 2011 for commercial and technical gas professionals.

Among Gastech’s supporting associations are Gas Technology Institute (GTI), Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE), American Petroleum Institute (API), European Federation of Energy Traders (EFET), Society of International Gas Tanker & Terminal Operators (SIGTTO), Society for Underwater Technology (SUT) and Gas Processors Association (GPA). Gastech works extensively with its industry associations to provide a platform for their members and other gas experts to discuss and share knowledge on key issues facing the industry at present.

Hosted by Shell and held on 21-24 March 2011 at the Amsterdam RAI, in the Netherlands, Gastech 2011 is celebrating its 25th edition. Conference delegates and exhibition visitors will benefit from an unrivalled opportunity to build new business partnerships, network with their peers and keep abreast of industry news, developments and the latest technologies and innovations from the gas industry’s leading suppliers.

“We would like to take this opportunity to welcome the international gas marketplace to the Amsterdam RAI at a critical time in the evolution of the industry. With gas set to play a major role in the development of a secure and sustainable global energy supply, this should be the most exciting Gastech in the event’s thirty-eight year history,” said Peter Voser, CEO, Royal Dutch Shell plc.

“Technology is transforming energy trading, from the shale gas revolution and changes in global LNG trade down to the continuing advances for information provision and intelligent electronic data exchange that are revolutionising physical and financial commodity trading as well as risk management.

And with full implementation of the third EU energy package required by March 2011, Gastech returns to Europe with ideal timing,” said Jan van Aken, Secretary General, EFET. William S. Wayne, General Manager and COO, SIGTTO said, “Gastech is, of the major conferences covering the gas world, the only one which concentrates on technical and commercial aspects of both LNG and LPG.

The scope covers the industry from upstream to delivery to downstream customers. The content of the paper sessions and the poster sessions provides an invaluable forum for keeping up-to-date with developments in the industry and this alone ensures that the key people from the industry are present.” API Senior Economist & Policy Manager, Sara Banaszack, explains how API members benefit from international networking at Gastech.

“API membership includes large and international companies, so the value for our members comes from the extensive global nature of participants coming together at Gastech to share knowledge. The event also gives members access to global gas industry participants who are not currently active or present in the United States,” she said.

Gastech 2011 will address critical issues affecting the global gas industry today and in the decade ahead and will be important for discussion and debate with the gas industry’s genuine thought leaders. Individual exhibiting companies from more than thirty countries are taking part in Gastech 2011 including Chevron, ConocoPhillips, E.ON Rurhgas, ExxonMobil, Gazprom, GDF Suez, Qatar Petroleum, PTT and Yemen LNG.
