Gasum of Finland said the first gas filling station intended for cars, commercial vehicles as well as heavy-duty road vehicles in Turku has been inaugurated on Monday, November 7.

The facility that offers LNG and CNG and biogas fueling near the port of Turku has been opened last week, the company said in its statement.

Gasum added it aims to construct two more gas filling stations in the Turku area next year to cover the growing interest in the area for the use of gas as fuel. The stations will be built in Vantaa and Jyväskylä.

The development of the gas infrastructure plays a key role for the increased use of gas as a road vehicle fuel, Gasum said, noting it will construct 35 new filling stations over the next ten years.
