Of that amount, about 54 percent went to the Turkish gas market and some 46 percent was delivered to the Turkey-Bulgaria border, Gazprom said in its statement.

The TurkStream pipeline stretches from Russia to Turkey across the Black Sea.

The gas pipeline has two strings with a combined throughput capacity of 31.5 billion cubic meters. The first string delivers gas to Turkey, while the second string is intended for gas transit to southern and southeastern Europe through Turkish territory.

Commercial supplies via the gas pipeline commenced on January 1, 2020.
