Gazprom discusses LNG supplies with Egypt

Alexey Miller of Gazprom and Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment of Egypt, met on Thursday in St. Petersburg where they discussed LNG supplies.

Miller and Abdel Nour addressed the current issues and prospects for the bilateral cooperation development in the gas sector, namely the interaction expansion in the area of LNG supplies from Gazprom’s portfolio to Egypt, according to a statement by Gazprom’s press office.

Gazprom has earlier this year signed a deal under which it will supply 35 cargoes of LNG to Egypt over a period of 5 years. Deliveries are scheduled to start in the second half of 2015.

Egypt started importing the chilled gas in April with the arrival of Höegh Gallant FSRU, which is being used as an import terminal off Ain Sukhna.
