Gazprom interested in rising LNG supplies to India

Deputy chairman of Gazprom’s management board, Alexander Medvedev revealed that the Russian company is looking to increase its LNG supplies to India.

As Platts informs, Medvedev said that Gazprom is looking into the option of increasing LNG supplies to India to 5 million mt per year by 2020, as the company’s portfolio currently stands at 25 million mt of LNG per year.

Medvedev further revealed that Gazprom recently agreed to raise LNG supplies to India’s Gail to 3.5 million mt per year with the possibility to extend the contract duration to 25 years from current 20 year.

Gazprom is interested in the Indian market and is looking for new buyers in the country. Medvedev said that Gazprom is in the position to supply its Indian customers from various sources, Vladivostok LNG, Baltic LNG, Sakhalin LNG or even from its portfolio, including Colombia.
