Gazprom and Shell have signed an agreement to implement the joint feasibility study on the Baltic LNG project in the port of Ust-Luga.

The agreement was signed between Gazprom LNG St. Petersburg and Shell Gas & Power Developments, Gazprom said in a statement.

The study will enable the two companies to assess and select the main technical solutions for the 10 million tons per year Baltic LNG project.

Gazprom and Shell also intend to develop a conceptual schedule for the implementation of the project.

Under the study, two companies will look to harmonize the Russian and international LNG standards and will analyse the possible measures needed to maximize the participation of Russian companies in the project.
