GDF SUEZ E&P Norge Gets New CEO

The Board of Directors has appointed Cedric Osterrieth as new Managing Director (CEO) of ENGIE’s Exploration & Production affiliate in Norway – GDF SUEZ E&P Norge – as of August 01, 2015.

The ENGIE Group has launched “the Enterprise Project” to restructure and reorganize the Group for ‘tomorrow’s energy world’, and Maria Moræus Hanssen has been asked to lead this project for the global business unit Exploration & Production. Consequently she will relocate to Paris during summer.

“I am looking forward to heading up ENGIE’s E&P affiliate in Norway”, Osterrieth says. “I am impressed with the company’s performance and hope that we will continue to develop its activities on the Norwegian Continental Shelf in a sustainable manner.”

“His solid background and varied experience singled Cedric out as my successor.” Maria Moræus Hanssen says. “I look forward to his contribution to the company and will give him my full support in his new role.”

Moræus Hanssen will continue to be involved in the E&P activity in Norway as she has been appointed Chairman of the Board of the Norwegian E&P affiliate following Jean-Marie Dauger’s retirement.

Cedric Osterrieth has 20 years of professional experience in the energy sector, of which nearly half in oil and gas.

Osterrieth is of Belgian origin and holds a Master degree in Applied Economics from the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium) and a Certificate of General Management Programme from CEDEP at Insead (France).

He joined the ENGIE Group in 2000 and since 2011 he has been Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in the E&P business unit, holding financial oversight on the Group’s E&P activities.
