Gener8 Maritime Sells Another Oldie for USD 28 Mn

Less than a week after it sold one of its oldest vessels, the crude oil shipping company Gener8 Maritime managed to reach an agreement to sell another oldie for a price of USD 28 million, according to data released by VesselsValue.

The vessel in question is the 2001-built Very Large Crude Carrier GenMar Victory, which was sold to Singapore-based Sentek Marine and Trading on July 25.

The tanker’s market value stands at USD 25.1 million, the data indicated.

VesselsValue added that the ship is to undergo conversion into a Floating, Storage and Offloading (FSO) vessel.

Built by South Korean Hyundai Heavy Industries, the vessel features 312,700 dwt, has a length of 333.5 meters and a width of 70 meters.

GenMar Victory is Sentek’s second VLCC, as the company operates 17 small clean tankers, and has one 6,200 dwt tanker currently under construction, scheduled for delivery in 2017.

On July 20, Gener8 Maritime sold its 2001-built VLCC GenMar Vision to the Taiwanese firm Winson Shipping for the same price as its sister ship, USD 28 million.
