Georgia Tech Savannah Hosts Seminar on Autonomous Underwater Vehicles

Georgia Tech Savannah is hosting a seminar on the subject of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) and Synthetic Aperture Sonar (SAS). Professor Wen Xu of Zheijang University, located in Hangzhou, China, will present an overview on the development of AUVs and SAS and their role in such endeavors as surveying oceanic environments and military scenarios.

Xu will also discuss the AUV/SAS test platform that was recently built at Zheijang University’s Acoustic Signal Processing Lab. Furthermore, the seminar will exhibit numerous experimental results and initiate the topic of developing low-cost navigation sensors utilized in the low-frequency system.
