GeoRXT Lands USD 103 mln OBC Job in Brazil

GeoRXT B.V., the joint venture between Georadar Levantamentos Geofísicos S/A and RXT, has been awarded its first contract in Brazil by Petrobras to conduct an Ocean Bottom Cable (OBC) survey over the Marlim and Marlim Leste fields in the Campos Basin.

The contract value is estimated to USD 103 million and commencement of the work is planned to take place in Q1 2012. The project is estimated to take 12 months including a 45 days break to upgrade the equipment to be able to operate in deeper water.

The Norway based RXT employs state-of-the art acquisition technology for the provision of Ocean Bottom Cable surveys. It uses the specially designed cable recovery engines and ION Geophysical VectorSeis Ocean (VSO) cable and four component (4C) sensors.
