German Offshore Wind Constructions Take Three Casualties

Three men have already lost their lives, and 80 of them have experienced serious accidents while working on German offshore wind farms, according to Focus magazine.

Polish worker and a Swedish diver have died while working on BardOffshore wind farm, located 100 kilometres northwest of the isle Borkum, in Germany, in water depth of 40 metres.

Germanyis planning to install 7,600 megawatts (MW) in offshore wind parks by 2020 and over 25,000 MW by 2030.

Currently there are 3 wind farms in operation with 20 more, which have been granted planning permissions.
