Germany: RWO Scores Orders for 20 CleanBallast Units

RWO Scores Orders for 20 CleanBallast Units

Within the last couple of weeks, Bremen-based RWO GmbH, a subsidiary of Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies, has logged orders for more than 20 CleanBallast units. This means the marine water treatment expert has secured orders for a total of more than 70 units for its ballast water treatment units to date.

The new orders for the CleanBallast system are for bulkers, container vessels and heavy-lift multipurpose vessels. So RWO is sailing on the absolutely right course and fulfilling its double-E company credo of “Exceeding Expectations”. This is typified by a repeat order from a German-based shipowner.

A repeat order

Numerous CleanBallast systems have already been operated by this owner for several years aboard newbuilds used in global trade routes. The owner’s expectations and experiences in performance and easy maintenance have been exceeded. So now he has decided to retrofit his existing fleet with our ballast water treatment system, too,” says Peter Wolf, Director Sales & Marketing of RWO.”This is ultimately the very best and independent testimony we can get, at a time when ballast water treatment is sometimes still viewed with scepticism, and also since many other systems still lack positive long-term operational experience.”

Showing state-of-the-art technology at this year’s SMM

Right on time for the most important exhibition of the maritime industry, the SMM in Hamburg early September, RWO also presents a modification of its ballast water treatment system. The footprint of the highly successful CleanBallast system has been significantly reduced in order to meet the customers’ demands. “Many of our customers pay very careful attention to the plant’s space requirements without losing sight of the need to select the best ballast water treatment technology. The modification of the CleanBallast system fulfils these conditions, along with our well proven and reliable technology – and now an even smaller plant footprint,” says Peter Wolf.

CleanBallast with less space demand

The system is based on the tried and trusted principles of the CleanBallast technology, consisting of special disk deep-filtration and RWO’s patented electrochemical EctoSys disinfection system. Based on the extremely positive operational experiences with it, the design of the disk deep-filtration has been further optimised, enabling to provide the smaller footprint. The repeat order for retrofitting already makes use of this modification.

Oily Water Separator with reduced footprint

Of course, RWO not only stands for proven and reliable ballast water treatment technology. The company’s other key product, with which it is already the global market leader, the SKIT-S DEB type oily water separator which achieves even the 5ppm standard, has been given a thorough facelift. Resulting in an even more compact oily water separator with a modern new look, which continues to work according to its proven technology guaranteeing safe and reliable operation.
