LNG Gorskaya of Russia informed it has awarded a contract to Italy-based Nuovo Pignone, a unit of GE Oil & Gas, to supply equipment for the construction of the country’s first floating liquefaction project.

Under the contract, GE Oil & Gas will produce and supply one main refrigerant compressor, two nitrogen expander compressors and two LNG boil-off gas compressors, the company said in a statement.

The implementation period of the contract is 14 months.

Earlier it was revealed that LNG-Gorskaya has signed a contract with the compatriot shipbuilder United Shipbuilding Corporation for the construction of Russia’s first three LNG bunkering tankers.

The order forms part of a plan to order up to 9 bunkering units intended for delivering fuel from an LNG plant being built at Gorskaya station near Saint-Petersburg.

The plant is expected to have an annual capacity of 1.26 million tons of LNG.
