Gulf Marine firms up two contract extensions

Gulf Marine Services (GMS), a provider of self-propelled self-elevating support vessels (SESVs) serving the offshore oil, gas and renewable energy sectors, has been awarded contract extensions for two of its vessels.

According to its statement on Wednesday, GMS has won a 16-month contract extension, including options, for one of its Small Class vessels in the Middle East. The extension is effective from the third quarter of 2018, GMS said.

Separately, a six-month contract extension option has been confirmed for one of the group’s Mid-Size Class vessels operating in the Middle East.

Duncan Anderson, Chief Executive Officer of GMS, said: “Levels of tender activity for all our vessel classes are improving in the oil and gas sector in the Middle East and we are pleased to have secured this contract extension for one of our Small Class vessels in the region.

“We have been supporting well service and maintenance work for this international oil company continuously for more than ten years and this award is testament to our client’s ongoing confidence in GMS to deliver the highest quality offshore support solutions.”
