Hammerfest LNG cargo heading for Barcelona

The 148,000 cbm LNG tanker Arctic Lady is on its way to Spain with a cargo loaded at Statoil’s Hammerfest facility on Melkoya island.

The 2006-built LNG carrier departed from the Hammerfest plant on January 16 and the shipping data reveals that the vessel is expected to arrive at the Barcelona liquefied natural gas terminal on January 25.

In August last year, Arctic Lady has undergone a major overhaul at Damen Shiprepair Brest in France. Under the scheduled routine overhaul the vessel’s main and auxiliary propulsion systems, as well as all of her LNG cargo equipment (tanks, pumps, safety valves, etc.) were overhauled.

The Enagas-operated Barcelona LNG terminal has a maximum storage capacity of 840,000 cbm in a total of eight storage tanks and is able to receive carriers with the capacity of up to 266,000 cubic meters.
