Harland & Wolff: New Director of Ship & Offshore Unit Repair

James Lappin has been appointed to the Board of Harland and Wolff Heavy Industries Limited as Director of Ship & Offshore Unit Repair.

Lappin will have total responsibility for developing and growing the company’s business in this sector and for the successful execution of its projects.

Mechanical Engineer Lappin joined Harland and Wolff as a Graduate Trainee Manager in 1999 before leaving to develop his career with blue chip offshore energy companies including BP, KBR and Fred Olsen Renewables.

Lappin re-joined H&W in 2011 as Ship & Offshore Unit Repair Manager, overseeing a range of successful projects such as the Husky SeaRose FPSO (floating production storage offshore) system and the recent Blackford Dolphin Drilling Rig project.
