Hat Trick for Hyundai Mipo

South Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Mipo Dockyard is on a winning streak having scored a third major construction order in only eight days.

Namely, Hyundai Mipo revealed that it has received construction orders for four Pure Car/Truck Carriers (PCTCs) from a Marshall Islands-registered company.

The value of the contract is KRW 343.7 billion (USD 284 million), the shipbuilder disclosed in a filing to Korea stock exchange.

The car carriers are slated to be delivered by November 30, 2018.

As World Maritime News reported last week, Hyundai Mipo Dockyard won an order for two Roll-on/Roll-off (RORO) ships, worth a total of USD 186.5 million and an order for the construction of three gas carriers worth a total of USD 140 million, both from an unnamed European shipping companies.

The shipyard’s current orderbook stands at KRW 3.97 trillion (USD 3.38 billion).
