Norway’s offshore shipowner Havila Shipping has agreed to sell the Havila Princess vessel to salmon farming company Bakkafrost from the Faroe Islands.

Havila said on Monday that the platform supply vessel would leave the offshore service vessel market and would be operated within the aquafarming industry.

The financial terms between the two companies regarding the vessel sale were left undisclosed. The company added that the sale represents no loss and will have limited effect on the company’s financial result.

The Havila Princess is a 73.4 meter-long platform supply vessel of VS 470 MK II design. It is powered by two 2220 KW Wärtsila engines, has a deadweight of 3719 tons, and can accommodate 23 people.

It was built by Kleven Verft and delivered to Havila in 2005.
