Höegh Galleon is the tenth FSRU in the Norwegian LNG carrier and terminal owner and operator’s fleet. Its delivery marks the completion of the company’s current newbuilding program.

The 170,000 cbm vessel is financed through a sale and leaseback deal with CCB Financial Leasing (CCBFL), a wholly owned subsidiary of China Construction Bank (CCB).

Equipped with a GTT Mark III membrane containment system and tri-fuel diesel-electric (TFDE) propulsion, the FSRU will be employed on an 18-month interim LNGC time charter with Cheniere before starting its intended long-term charter with Australian Industrial Energy (AIE) in Australia.

In August 2018, Höegh LNG and AIE reached an exclusivity agreement for the provision of an FSRU for the consortium’s Port Kembla Gas Terminal. The 297.5-meter Höegh Galleon will be permanently moored at Berth 101 in Port Kembla’s inner harbor for the duration of the charter.

The company has another FSRU newbuild, the 2018-built Höegh Esperanza, destined for operations in Australia under a contract with AGL Shipping for the Crib Point LNG project in Victoria.

In addition to the ten FSRUs, Höegh LNG also has two LNG carriers in its fleet.
