Honeywell’s tech selected for Texas LNG

Honeywell informed on Thursday its natural gas technology and process automation have been selected for the Texas LNG project in the Port of Brownsville’s deep-water ship channel.

The technology will be used to remove contaminants from natural gas in preparation for liquefaction and export from the 4 mtpa LNG facility that are scheduled to start in 2020, Honeywell said in a statement.

Honeywell Process Solutions (HPS) will serve as the integrated main automation contractor (I-MAC) and will be responsible for designing, delivering and installing the automation, instrumentation, controls, safety and security, operations management, and planning and scheduling applications.

Honeywell added it will assist Texas LNG through the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s front-end engineering and design (FEED) process.
