16th European Hydro Conference – Hydro8 – to take place in Liverpool

News – September 2, 2008

The Hydrographic Society UK is organising and hosting the 16th European Hydro Conference – Hydro8 – in Liverpool from 4th to 6th November 2008.

The venue for the conference and exhibition is the Britannia Adelphi Hotel, situated just a short walk from Liverpool city centre and the historic Albert Dock. A world-renowned centre of maritime and sporting excellence, Liverpool is the current European Capital of Culture.

Liverpool and the surrounding area, also offer much for the sports enthusiast – including legendary football clubs, the Grand National course at Aintree and the highest concentration of golf courses in the world.

Hydro8 is organising a golf tournament and tours of Liverpool (Anfield) and Everton (Goodison Park) football clubs (subject to demand).

More information on Liverpool and its attractions can be found at www.hydro8.org.uk.

Hydro8 will be an important forum for the exchange of innovative ideas, developing technologies and emerging practices. With this in mind, the theme for the conference will be ‘New Opportunities,’ and the organising committee has selected a wide variety of papers from respected international experts reflecting this theme.

More than 20 papers will be presented during eight of the nine themed sessions, spread across the three days of the conference.

The organisers are delighted to announce that the conference will be launched by the National Hydrographer of the United Kingdom, Rear Admiral Ian Moncrieff, who will deliver a keynote speech on the theme of new opportunities in Hydrography.

In support of the conference, Hydro8 will offer a range of workshops, demonstrations, vessel tours and technical and non-technical visits on the Wednesday afternoon.
The final programme will be published at www.hydro8.org.uk where it is also possible to download a delegrate registration form and view delegate registration information, including payment options and rates for partners and guests, the conference dinner, golf tournament and football club visits

The accompanying exhibition, which is already almost sold out, will showcase many of the leading suppliers to the industry on over 60 stands in three interlinked rooms adjacent to the conference hall. Coffee and lunch breaks will give all delegates at least two and a half hours a day to spend in the exhibition.

Sponsorship is a direct cost-effective route to target your market, and a few opportunities still remain for companies to benefit from one of a variety of Hydro8 sponsorship packages specifically designed to ensure your message is seen.
