Contract signed to dredge port of Buenos Aires

The General Ports Administration announced on Friday that it had signed a contract with Belgian firm Jan de Nul NV to dredge the inner areas of the Port of Buenos Aires. The contract resulted from a public tender called in 2008. The principal aim of the contract is to widen the access channel to the docks to 180 metres in front of Dock A, to 250 metres in front of Docks C and D and to widen the maneuvering area in the access channel to a diameter of 500 metres.
