Rocksource registers for EM research

Electro-magnetic survey user Rocksource has been chosen to collaborate with Chevron, Total and StatoilHydro on a new research programme which will look at the integration of seismic and electro-magnetic data.

The new research project at the University of Bergen is being funded by the Norwegian Research Council and includes CGG Veritas and the University of Oslo’s Centre of Mathematics for Applications.

Time-lapse seismic and time-lapse electro-magnetic data will be studied within the programme, which rejoices in the title: “Reservoir monitoring and dynamic reservoir characterization with production, seismic and electromagnetic data,” as well as rock physics, reservoir monitoring, plus joint inversion of different types of data.
