Offshore unions in safety talks

Safety fears about the offshore oil and gas industry are being raised in a meeting between unions and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
The talks follow a fatal accident inquiry report into the deaths of two workers on the Brent Bravo platform.

Last week operator Shell was criticised by a sheriff over the deaths.

The unions want stricter enforcement of improvement orders, more independent inspections offshore and consultation with staff over safety issues.
