New terminal plan for Port

A new £6m fresh produce terminal, with a capacity of 5,000 tonnes, will be built in the Port of Liverpool to handle fruit and vegetable imports destined for the north of England.

The 90,000 sq ft cool store, called Liverpool Produce Terminal (LPT), will employ 30 full-time staff and is expected to be operational from September, in time for the start of the Spanish fresh produce season.
