JV wins contract to develop Peruvian port

LR-Fairplay reports that a joint venture (JV) involving Peru and Portugal has won a concession to develop the Peruvian port of Paita. LR-Fairplay said the JV company Terminales Portuarios Euroandinos will reportedly pump US$277 million into the project to upgrade Paita’s box terminal. The consortium is made up of the Peruvian companies Cosmos and Translei and the Portuguese group Tertir Terminais, controlled by Portugal’s largest construction company, Mota-Engil.
