Meetings set for LNG terminals

Two upcoming meetings in Jackson County concerning proposed liquefied natural gas terminals will solicit public comments about the impacts of the projects.

The first meeting, on Thursday, will be held by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for Chevron’s proposal to build a 1.3 billion-cubic-foot-a-day capacity terminal and pipeline in Pascagoula’s Bayou Casotte.

That meeting is part of a federally-required environmental impact assessment. FERC has already given its approval for the project, as long as Chevron implements several safety measures.
